What weight is cardstock vs. printing paper?
Printmoz carries a 12pt and 24pt cardstock (that is the thickness of the cardstock). Printing paper can typically range from 3pt to 6pt depending on the brand. Most cardstock would not be able to be ran on your typical home printer because of how thick it is.
Why does cardstock get smeared when printing?
Cardstock is thicker than regular printing paper so if you are trying to print on cardstock at home it might be coming in contact with the printers ink cartridge, this can cause smearing and could possibly damage the cartridge. If you are trying to print at home you should always check your printers user guide to determine what paper types work best with your printer. Printmoz uses a large grand format printer that calculates the height of different material and uses LED light technology to quickly cure/dry ink.
What is a good cardstock weight for easy printing?
It really depends on what you will be needing it for. You may want a business card with a thicker feel to it like 14pt or 24pt cardstock, whereas if you're printing a picture 12pt cardstock would be just fine since it will be in a frame.
